Tucano Amazon Cruise
The Tucano is a charming vessel that offers a choice of Amazon cruise itineraries starting and finishing in the Brazilian jungle city of Manaus. Whilst not a luxury cruise, the Tucano offers high level of comfort and reaches areas that other cruises do not.
The Tucano is over 80 feet long and has just nine cabins, giving plenty of space for each guest. There is a comfortable salon with balcony which serves as the ship's library and dining room. The top deck is open providing an excellent place to from which to enjoy the Amazon.
All cabins have private bathrooms with hot showers, toilet and sink. Some cabins have two lower beds, others have two bunks. Cabins are air-conditioned and have individual controls. All the cabin walls (and in the salon) have solid wooden paneling.
Itineraries and dates
There are two itineraries, one of seven nights and one of four. If you have time, the seven night trip is highly recommended as it reaches some of the less visited parts of the Rio Negro. However, the four night cruise is also very worthwhile and includes the Meeting of the Waters where the Rios Solimoes and Negro run parallel to each other with their different coloured waters slowing combining and forming the Amazon.
